How and where can yurts be used?
REST
Yurts are an affordable alternative to the huge building costs and hassles of planning permission which accompany any extension work undertaken at home. It will cost you in the region of 400 pounds per square metre in building fees alone. Annexed to an existing house and connected to its amenities, yurts can provide additional living spaces as a guest bedroom, play space, conservatory, library, living/reading room, kitchen, dining room or sauna.
Raised off the ground on a wooden platform and well insulated, a yurt can be kept warm all year round or be erected in an hour for one off events or guests arriving for a short visit.
Yurts, as a temporary structure, are exempt from planning permission regulations. Yurtcraft is bespoke in the sense that we work closely with the existing features of the location the yurt is to be installed. We can even advise on how yurts can be used in small, inner city terraced gardens and have designs for an egg shaped yurt that makes the most of narrow, rectangular gardens.
WORK
Yurts can be made into excellent home office spaces that make a distinct live/work environment possible. They can be functioning workshops for various crafts (woodwork, pottery, greenwood crafts etc) or a studio for painters, sculptors and the like. Another use could be as a music practice/recording space . For tutors, music lessons and as a study environment a yurt provides a great space in which to teach and learn.
Yurts also make good exhibition spaces for galleries or anyone searching for a temporary venue in which to show their wares in a unique environment.

PLAY
Festivals, all kinds of special occasions, live music events, yoga (to name but a few) can all be accommodated in yurts of various sizes and design.
